CHIPPEWA VALLEY COALITION FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES

MISSION: To promote safe, healthy, & drug-free youth & support families.

The Chippewa Valley Coalition for Youth & Families joins school & community in promoting safe, healthy, & drug-free youth & in supporting families. The Coalition sponsors numerous activities. These include an expansive Red Ribbon (drug prevention) Campaign at the district elementary and middle schools. The Coalition, through the Interfaith/Chippewa Valley Schools Partnership, also links with local churches to celebrate Red Ribbon Month.

Activities
The Coalition collaborated with Chippewa Valley Schools &Clinton & Macomb Townships to sponsor Focus on Youth - Strengthening Our Community. This event brought together Chippewa Valley middle & high school students & adult leaders from the school & community in a structured dialogue intended to elicit the perspectives of youth & promote positive change.

We support an annual drug prevention workshop; the creation & dissemination of parenting education materials; & the distribution of prevention education information to students and school staff.

The Coalition has also undertaken the creation of original prevention videos intended to educate students, parents, & school staff.
